DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING - Growing Software Company - Miami, FL
Emphasys Software is currently seeking a Director of Sales and Marketing to champion growth in one divisions in Miami, FL. We're looking for an exceptional sales leader - someone who will create a proactive sales and marketing strategy for the division, and who will drive the entire sales process, from opportunity identification to closure.

 

PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director of Sales and Marketing will report directly to the General Manager of the division, and will manage the sales and marketing of enterprise-level, vertical market software solutions to government agencies.

 

The Director of Sales and Marketing will lead all teams across the division and have the following primary responsibilities:

  • Strategy: Develop and execute forward-looking strategic sales and marketing plans. Work proactively in new and back to base markets and short- and long-term sales cycles to maintain steady sales pipeline. Analytically assess potential clients and current accounts to ensure all customer needs are met and additional product sales are explored.
  • Management: Lead sales and marketing team in successfully executing sales strategy to achieve profit and sales targets. Manage the RFP response process from solicitation through closure. Plan and manage sales budget.
  • Team Building/Coaching: Recruit and develop best-in-class sales team members. Create a collaborative and focused team, and mentor team members to boost sales performance as well as encourage professional and personal development.
  • Cross-Functional Relationships: Work with the Operations and Development teams to transition new clients through the on-boarding process.
  • Client Relationships: Constantly pursue new contacts and grow the opportunity pipeline. Cultivate long-term client relationships to leverage additional sales opportunities.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of direct sales experience required. Software sales experience is required.
  • Demonstrated success in government sales, experience working in and managing both short and long (up to 2 years) sales cycles, and history of success in the RFP process preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of sales management experience, with demonstrated success developing and engaging a top-notch team.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial and competitive individual who is always looking for the next sales opportunity.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 40% (may peak to 70%) to execute sales strategy.
